Students are expected to demonstrate high ethical and moral values as desired by a socially advanced society. in line with the ethics of various religions. For this purpose, students will be subjected to disciplinary rules framed by the Board of Governors of the University. A copy of these rules can be obtained from the Office of the Registrar. The students are required to sign an affidavit that they will maintain discipline as required under the rules. This affidavit is a part of the application form. In case of breach of discipline on any account specified in the rules, the matter will be reported to the “Discipline Committee”.
This committee will take the final decision, in accordance with the norms of justice and keeping in view the evidence available thereof. At the University of Lahore, we believe that good quality education has to be supported by well maintained discipline. Hence. The following actions on campus shall be strongly dealt with:
a) SMOKING AT CAMPUS:
Any student reported smoking within the premises would be fined at least Rs. 2,000. The maximum penalty will be expulsion of the student from the roll of the University.
b) USE OF CELLULAR PHONE:
Students are NOT allowed to use cellular phones anywhere in campus. The minimum penalty for using this device at premises is a fine of Rs. 5,000 as well as confiscation of the phone.
c) DRESS CODE & CARD WEARING:
Any student reported to have violated the dress code will be fined a minimum of Rs. 500 for one time offence. On repeated violation. the fine will be increased to Rs. 500.
To qualify for award of degree. each, student will be required to:
a) Complete laid down duration and pass number of courses as well as earn he credit hours of that program
as prescribed by respective department.
b) Clear all dues
c) Ensure that no disciplinary action is pending against him/her.
UOL will issue a degree to a student who the has attained on overall CGPA of 2.0 or above (in undergraduate
programmes) and on overall CGPA of 2.5 or above [in graduate and M.Phil programmes). For M.Phil leading to Ph.D and Ph.D programmes. attainment of 3.0 CGPA or more is mandatory.
